Cadillac firming up solid foundation for 2024 season
Next year, Cadillac will once again compete in the FIA World Endurance Championship (FIA WEC) and IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with the same number of cars as 2023.
The #2 Cadillac V-Series.R will take part in eight FIA WEC rounds kicking off on 2 March 2024 at the Qatar 1812 km. The American constructor will also once again compete in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with two cars: the #01 V-Series.R and the #31 fielded by Whelen Engineering. Their season will get underway at the Rolex 24 at Daytona on 25-28 January. Cadillac hopes to clinch three invitations to the 92nd 24 Hours of Le Mans on 12-16 June.
"We have a great foundation to build on."
Laura Wontrop Klauser, General Motors Sports Car Racing Programme Manager
GM Sports Car Racing Programme Manager Laura Wontrop Klauser: "We’re very excited to dive into the second year of our Cadillac V-Series.R programme. We are very proud of what we accomplished in the first year and we’ve learned so much racing in two series. We have a great foundation to build on. Having 2024 as a carry-over year will allow us the opportunity to focus entirely on the car and understanding it better instead of having to balance car learning with new team and new series learning as we did in 2023."
