Throughout the history of the 24 Hours, rain has often played a spoilsport role. In a time frame spanning more than 90 years, it has shattered the hopes of some and made others legends. Like Henri Pescarolo and his Matra in 1968.

The three big American automobile companies (Ford, Chrysler and General Motors) have known, each in its own way, success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Let's start with Ford which began exactly a half a century ago to write one of the most fabulous chapters in the Le Mans legend.

July 4-6, 2014, the Grid 5 of the Le Mans Classic will group together cars that competed at the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1966 to 1971. During that period, Ford then Porsche ended Ferrari's domination.
