To organise the 24 Hours of Le Mans, ACO engage its ecosystem in a circular and responsible approach integrating the products, catering or infrastructures in order to lower their impact.
This ambition is supported since many years with committed food providers, such caterers, certified ISO 20121.
However, ACO wishes to go further by engaging caterers in its Race to 2030 program. Whether with local supply, reduction of disposal containers, action to reduce food waste or recovery of biowaste.
As part of its responsible approach, ACO as decided to invest on waste management optimization on the circuit especially during the events, such as the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Since 2023 together with Paprec, more then 2 000 new sorting bins have been installed on the circuit.
Paprec and ACO have targeted to optimize the sorting with a target for 2030 of 80% of waste recovery (se sont ainsi fixés une optimisation du tri avec un objectif à horizon 2030 de 80% de valorisation matière (namely: sorting, recylcing and organic valorization).
For the 24 Hours of Le Mans 2024, the waste recovery reached 55,64% (vs 45,26 % in 2023) align with the targets set.
