Cadillac to Field Four V-Series.R Cars
Cadillac is back in full force! Four V-Series.Rs will go for glory in the Hypercar class: two for Cadillac Hertz Team JOTA, one for Cadillac WTR (Wayne Taylor Racing) and one for Cadillac Whelen (#311 Cadillac). John Roth, Cadillac Global Vice President: "After scoring our first podium finish at this iconic endurance race in 2023 and securing a top 10 finish last year, we look to build on that success and showcase the Cadillac V-Series.R’s technology, performance and innovation of our race teams once again."
Mercedes-AMG Returns with Three Cars
The German marque is back at the 24 Hours of Le Mans after a 26-year hiatus! Iron Lynx's #60 and #61 Mercedes-AMG LMGT3s competing in the FIA World Endurance Championship will be joined by a third car entrusted to father/son duo Stephen and Brenton Grove, as well as Luca Stolz. Andrea Piccini, Iron Lynx Team Principal: "We are excited to line up one additional car in the 24 Hours of Le Mans and we are proud to represent Mercedes-AMG in their return edition with an expanded programme. Both Stephen and Brenton have a good amount of experience, and they are a valuable addition to the team. Luca is an outstanding driver. I used to be teammates with him in the past, and I know he is extremely talented and experienced. He is somebody that the team can truly rely on."
Algarve Pro Racing with Théo Pourchaine
One of the Portuguese team's two ORECA 07-Gibsons will be driven by 2023 F2 champion and Peugeot TotalEnergies reserve driver Théo Pourchaire. Stewart Cox, Tea Principal: "Algarve Pro Racing is serious about its ambitions for the 2025 season, and I think that’s reflected in our European Le Mans Series driver line-up. Théo (Pourchaire, Ed.) is a serious talent who, since winning the 2023 FIA F2 Championship, has proven very adept in a wide range of racing machinery, from INDYCAR single-seaters to Team Peugeot TotalEnergies’ 9X8 Hypercar. This will be his first full season of endurance racing, but I know he will adapt quickly and be an asset to the team as it looks to recover its ELMS titles."
Last year, Algarve Pro Racing finished eighth in LMP2 and is preparing for its ninth 24 Hours of Le Mans.
United Autosports Playing the Numbers
The United Autosports team has the unique distinction of competing in LMP2 (with two ORECA 07-Gibsons) and representing McLaren in LMGT3. The British outfit is the defending LMP2 champion with two wins, a third place finish and six LMP2 top 5s to its credit since its inception in 2017.
Richard Dean, United Autosports CEO: "The confirmation of our four-car entry is fantastic news. We love racing at Le Mans and, following our second LMP2 victory last summer, we are fired up for even more success in 2025. The scale of the operation to run four cars across the LMP2 and LMGT3 classes is hugely impressive and this year, on the 30th anniversary of McLaren’s Le Mans debut and race victory, preparations are already in full flow at United Autosports HQ."
IDEC SPORT Racing Coming in Strong
For the ninth year in a row, IDEC SPORT Racing will take the start in the 24 Hours of Le Mans, this year with two ORECA 07-Gibsons in LMP2. The #18 will serve to familiarise Genesis Magma Racing with the demands of endurance racing before the team takes on the Hypercar class in 2026. Paul Lafargue: “I feel like a child living his dream. I thank the ACO for this opportunity, which also recognizes the work done by the entire IDEC SPORT team over the past ten years. Ten years of effort, progress and self-improvement, during which we have grown together to achieve ever greater excellence. For this 93rd edition, we want to build on the experience we’ve gained and continue where we left off last year. We know that the competition is fierce and that every detail counts, but we are ready to take on the challenge. Our goal is clear: to climb one or two more steps on the podium. The whole team is working tirelessly towards this, with the determination to exceed our limits.’’
