Kevin Magnussen (32), who has 185 Formula 1 to his name, will be one of the 186 drivers entered for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. “I am happy and proud to represent such an iconic motorsport brand as BMW in some of the world's most legendary races. BMW M Motorsport director Andreas Roos is enthusiastic: “Kevin Magnussen is an outstanding addition to our LMDh programme. He has regularly demonstrated his speed at the highest level in Formula 1 over the past decade. Thanks to his extensive experience, he is a true asset to our project. His previous full season with a sports car prototype in 2021 is another advantage for us, as it will surely ease his acclimatisation to the BMW M Hybrid V8. I am delighted that Kevin Magnussen is part of the BMW M Motorsport family now.”

Kevin Magnussen is not a newcomer to the 24 Hours of Le Mans. In 2021 he was a member of the Danish LMP2 team High Class Racing, sharing the Oreca 07-Gibson with his father Jan and Anders Fjordbach. The Nordic outfit finished 29th overall and 17th in LMP2.

BMW will be announcing the full 2025 driver line-up at a later date. Dries Vanthoor and René Rast are already on the FIA WEC 2025 Entry List. BMW M Team WRT finished its first FIA WEC season in fifth spot in the Hypercar World Endurance Manufacturers’ Championship. The Munich manufacturer has gone from newbie to podium potential in the space of a year.
